New Method
Baseline Charting
1) A brand new patient will only show the baseline. As seen below
2) Click on the tooth surface you wish to chart.
| Select the tooth surface you wish to chart onto
The blue is indicating the surface that is currently selected to chart onto. |
Search for a treatment you wish to chart.
Then click the green plus button next to the item to chart your desired item onto the chosen tooth surface. |
These are five chartable tooth states.
If you are unsure what they are representing, hover over to see more information. |
This shows what is present on that specific tooth
you have selected. It also shows what is proposed treatment for that tooth. |
3) Mark the tooth surfaces you wish to chart onto, the marked surfaces will appear in blue. Then click the green plus button to add the treatment or defect.
This can be seen below, where i have added established caries onto the upper left 5, this has been added to the MOD tooth surface.
4) Marking the teeth as either one of Missing, Erupted, Unerupted, Partiallyrupted, Gap Closed or Sound.
Right click on the tooth surface, then click from any of the tick boxes seen below. If you are unsure what any of the symbols mean, you can hover over them to give a description.
Proposing Treatment
1) To propose treatment, you will have to open a new treatment plan. To do this click on "New Treatment Plan" button
2) Check the details displayed here is correct. The drop down at the bottom is this practitioner's templates, you don't have to insert these. But they are fully customisable. (Customisable Templates)

You can propose treatment on these rows, so then it will not directly appear on the baseline without making the treatment as done.
4) Charting on the proposal line is exactly the same as charting on the base line.
Click onto the tooth surface you want to mark the treatment for, then the box below will pop up.
I have proposed treatment for the upper left 5 which already had established caries on MOD. Pearl will automatically pick up the effected tooth surface and it will recommend a likely course of action.
I have proposed an Amalgam Filling on the upper left 5 MOD to sort the established caries.
Below is how the proposed treatment should look on the chart.
Click And Drag
1) On the left of the chart you can see a search box. This box works the same as find a patient, you start typing and Pearl will automatically start the search. This can be changed between treatments and defects with the two boxes under search.
2) Once you have found the treatment or defect, click and hold onto the item you want. Then drag and drop it onto the tooth surface you want.
If you choose a treatment that requires tooth surface selection, the box below will appear.
